While Apple still cooperates with AMD to power their Systems, anybody that still not uses Silicon CPUs knows that NVIDIA-Cards are the better choice. So I ripped a List of latest nvidia-Cards that will run natively on intel-Macs of your choice, no matter if for internal or external use. These may even run on Silicon-Macs... you may try;

There are still Nvidia Web drivers available that work in High Sierra if you have a Maxwell GTX 745 through Pascal 1080 Ti card. There will likely never be any Mojave or Catalina web drivers released for these cards.
